A ‘Demo’ category by invitation only during the
Legend Boucles @ Bastogne 2020

While the registrations continue to flow in for the Legend Boucles @ Bastogne 2020 in the ‘Legend’, ‘Challenger’ and ‘Classic’ categories, a great number of fans and other teams have their doubts concerning the ‘Demo’ category. After much thought, Pierre Delettre and his team are in a position to provide a precise answer … which should rejoice more than one!
“There will definitely be a ‘Demo’ category during the upcoming Legend Boucles @ Bastogne, but it will solely be by invitation, the man in charge of the Royal Automobile Club de Spa, and organiser of the Bastogne event, commented. Which means that those competitors interested should provide us with a detailed file addressed to info@racspa.be, with a presentation as also various photographs of their car. The aim is to truly bring an added-value to the event, by accepting exceptional machines linked to the history of rallies. As such we will be focussing on quality over quantity … “
In practical terms, cars accepted in ‘Demo’ will not be eligible for the other categories. Here we are obviously talking about Groupe B, but also models coming under annex J2 of the FIA (cars built up to 31/12/1990), exclusively with four-wheel-drive, as far as it concerns Group A or Group N, or all other cars from the ‘90s showing a particular interest. We are, for example, thinking of the first World Rally Cars…

“But that’s not all, Pierre Delettre continued. Seeing the Ford Escort cars of the ‘Millington’ type are forbidden at the Legend Boucles @ Bastogne, they will be allowed in ‘Demo’. We are talking about true racing cars, highly spectacular, which all ensure their part of the show.”

Last but not least, the competitors whose dossier will have been accepted will be … invited! Which means that they will not need to pay the registration fee! Spread the word …

As of 12th December an Audi Sport Quattro S1 (Ver Eecke-De Deyne), an Audi Quattro A2 RR (Thomas-Gronewald), a Ford Escort WRC (Bailey-Zander), two Subaru Impreza Gr.A (Poels-Jambers and Schipper-Van der Marel), a Audi 90 Quattro Gr.A (Pauwels-Wilmotte) as also a Mazda 323 GTX (Burkart-Korz) are in order with their registration. A Renault 5 Turbo is forecast, as also a Ford Escort RS Cosworth. Wait and see what happens …
