Two weeks, 100 entries!

Definitely off to a flying start! With the registrations opened on Thursday 1st November for the Legend Boucles @ Bastogne 2019, the event is enjoying a true success, to such a point that in just two weeks, the milestone of 100 entries has been reached! “It really has taken off, seeing last year it took one month to reach a similar result, the delighted organiser Pierre Delettre commented. Let us hope that it continues in the same way during the coming weeks, but let us not be over triumphant as yet. We have worked on evolving our communication mode, ever more in tune with today’s medias, and we have noted that this has clearly encouraged the competitors not to wait until the two last weeks to confirm their presence.”

Running through the hundred or so teams appearing on the entry list, we note that the ‘Classic’ category (60 km/h average) are the largest number with more than 60% of entries. “Nonetheless we are heading towards two groups, with on the one hand the ‘Classic’ and the ‘Legend’ and ‘Challenger’ on the other, being almost on a par, Pierre Delettre continued. It is also remarkable to note that we already have registered near on 20 entries in ‘Challenger(80 km/h average), whilst in February last year there were some thirty at the start, for the introduction of that category. Quite clearly the competitors got the message, to the extent of finding this ‘Challenger’ category perfectly adapted to their sporting expectations. We are delighted with this …”

On a side note it is the … Citroën 2CV of the unmissable Patrick Maréchal and Dominique Beaujean duo, entered in ‘Classic’, which was the first team to appear on the list of entrants,  registered on 1st November at 00.13hrs! Highly motivated guys!

Whilst the R.A.C. Spa is progressively at work preparing for their major winter event, Pierre Delettre and his team can but wish the very best to the former winners of Legend Boucles @ Bastogne, namely Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul in their quest for the world title in Australia. Fingers crossed for our rally duo bearing the black-yellow-red flag! Go, TNNG, Go!
